The US Geological Survey said that the 5.9-magnitude earthquake banged northern Afghanistan the last Sunday, startling the Indian capital and even the parts of Pakistan, says the local reports.
The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 6.2 on the Richter scale by Pakistan Meteorological Department whereas, the US Geological Survey (USGS) says it is of 5.9 magnitude.
According to Geo news, The epicentre of the earthquake was 86 kilometres deep inside the earth and said to be detected somewhere in the border place of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
In India, the tremblor was reported to felt in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Delhi.
In Pakistan, it was said to be shaked most of areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces.
The tremors was also felt in other places like Muree, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jehlum, Sialkot, Vihari, Sahiwal, Kasur, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Shaikhupura, Peshawar, Mansehra, Shangla, Swat, Nowshehra, Dirbala and adjoining areas.
Several houses were damaged by this strong earthquake and people came out of their houses to open in search of take shelter especially in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
